F4F Varieties: There were two Ruby figs, Ruby-3 and Ruby-4. These figs were found by Ruby Law, a member of the Foothill chapter of CRFG. She found an abandoned orchard in Etiwanda where these two figs and others were found. These two were unidentified but must be old varieties. Since we didn’t know their identities I called them Ruby-3 and Ruby-4. Ruby-3 is a black fig with a rather coarse pulp texture with good flavor. Dark red in color. First fruited, 2007 season. Flavors of strawberry and cucumber.
