Synonyms

RDS PV, Rigato del Salento, Regalto de Salernto (Punto Verde), Regalto de Salernto (Punta Verde), Regalto de Salernto (Unifera), Regalto de Salernto PV, Rigato del Salerno, Panachee?

There are actually a number of varieties that bear the Regalto de Salernto name, so a suffix is added to each to differentiate these different varieties.

“Rigato” or “Regalto” simply translates as “Striped” in English. “Salento”, “Salernto” or “Salerno” is the Italian city (Puglia region of southern Italy) from which these varieties originate.

This is the Unifera variety that is circulating around the US with the Punto Verde suffix, named so after the Punta Verde nursery in Lecce, but it has not been confirmed if this version is distinguishable from Panachee.
